2019 Spook Hill Cider & Wine 4 Mile Run

The Spook Hill Cider & Wine 4 Mile Run utilizes a mix of road and cross country surfaces. Participants will run (or walk) through historic Burkittsville, up the slight incline of Spook Hill into the Boordy Winery Vineyard, through historic Union Cemetery, Guyton’s Farm, and the Distillery Lane Ciderwork’s Orchard. This is your chance to run the Biggest “little” Race In Maryland!

The Distillery Lane Ciderworks orchard and tasting room is located across the street from the Ruritan and will be open immediately after the awards ceremony and door prize drawings have concluded. Boordy Vineyards will also be offering tastings in Burkittsville on race morning – take advantage of this great opportunity to taste wines made from grapes harvested on the Spook Hill course!

Want More? Introducing the Spook Hill Wine Trail! Most, if not all, of the venues on the Spook Hill Wine Trail, will be offering Spook Hill participants specials on race day.

Orchid Cellar Meadery and Winery and Willow Oaks Craft Cider & Wine, both located in nearby Middletown, and Antietam Creek Vineyards in Sharpsburg are additional participating wineries that will be open the day of Spook Hill.

Also in Middletown, Mazzaroth Vineyard, a boutique winery with sweeping views of the Middletown Valley, is open by appointment only. If you want to taste their wares, call 301-639-0303.

Want to stop and grab a bite to eat while you’re out tasting? Try The Little Red Barn Ice Cream Cafe (no adult beverages, but show your Spook Hill bib to receive a free kid’s size soft-serve ice cream) in nearby Jefferson, MD.
