Event Type : Road Race

Join your neighbors and invite your family and friends from afar for this inaugural event and participate in a fun 5K run/walk around the beautiful Cobb Island perimeter streets. Wear your favorite crab or themed costume and enjoy a fun event for the community of Cobb Island and adjoining communities on the Rock Point Road corridor. Register by October 1, 2023, to guarantee your race shirt!

Chip timing is provided by Overland Timing.

Race Timeline

Pre-race packet pickup
7:00am: Race day packet pickup and registration
8:00am: Little Crabs 600-meter fun run
8:30am: 5K run/walk

Awards

Awards will be given for the top qualifiers in each age group. 

An award will be given for the best costume.

Charity

We will be collecting non-perishable food items at packet pickup or race day that we will donate to the local food bank for Thanksgiving 2023.

Join us in Lexington Park on Thanksgiving morning for our inaugural Gobble Gallop 5K! All proceeds will benefit the St. Vincent de Paul of IHM Food Pantry, which serves our local community by providing food and financial assistance to those in need.

Participants are invited to run or walk the 5K. Strollers and dogs on leashes are welcome. Thanksgiving-spirited apparel is encouraged! The nearly all-flat course will begin and end at IHM, with scenic legs passing our neighboring business properties along Route 235.

Give and get back with a gesture! Bring a non-perishable item for the food pantry and receive our commemorative fleece beanie!
